Is it ok to reach out from personal email?
Hi,
I have two projects I am working on and I was wondering if it is ok to reach out using personal email? Or is it not too professional and I should use domain/corporate email? One project is a saas for bloggers and the other is a project similar to feedly.

In most cases, I think we worry a bit too much about being too professional. I wouldn't use my personal gmail account, but it's a pretty bad address.
Also, if you have time and want to keep your costs down, someone just posted on IH a day or two ago about setting up free e-mail forward and responses. I think it uses Yandex and gmail:

thanks for that. I too think we worry too much. Don't want to pay for gsuite yet, so maybe will go with personal email for now.
Even worse, I think we tend to overcompensate, and end up sounding like robots instead of people in our communication. Always tough to balance.
I think it depends on the context. If you are reaching out to bloggers, I think being personal is quite ok. Me and my team mates reach out to travelers and we are happy with our Gmail address.
It works fine, because we are not pretending to be a company, which honestly we are not yet. But it also means people expect personal responses from us and not automated replies. It goes both ways :)
Thanks, I totally agree that it goes both ways:) everything I am doing right now is not automated, so everything is personal.
In the early days, I really think personal makes all the difference. It is important to get to know your audience. In our team we literally know all of our travelers who we have interviewed by name.
It's fine for selling to SMBs but not to enterprises, especially in more regulated industries, because e.g. if someone is using a non-company email to try to sell software to a bank or something then that triggers compliance issues.
