Legal templates for SaaS business

I have built a product and now have two customers who want to use the system. One as a trial for 30 days, the other is keen to start stright away.
The one who is keen to start right away asked me for an agreement.
I am keen to keep things pretty lofi as far as paperwork goes, simple and fair. My main concerns are around ensuring we retain all IP. Other aspects I guess I'd need to consider are service level agreements, NDA, protecting the system from misuse and contract terms.
We are not trading in Europe. I thought I'd ask her before researching. I can also get a template from an investor so they may be a good start.
What are some of the other things we should consider? I guess I will need to charge them somehow, I wonder if I should use stripe:)

Here's another question: at what price point would you pay for someone to take a document and customize it? $49... $99
I would pay 99 if I trusted the service. Trust would be crucial. So landing pages testimonials that inc how the work helped protect the client would be good. Although, I would be unlikely to trust a testimonial. Using a template - I am getting a job done and accepting some risk. Paying someone to do my legals, I want to make sure they are rock solid.
Short, simple fair terms are also important to me. I do not want really words, hard to understand terms. I want terms in plain English. I may pay for someone to take my wordy template and translate it. Hope that all helps, I am so early stage though.
I've got friends in the legal industry - I am likely to show them the template.
If I were going to pay for something to get customized, it is the kind of things I would more likely to pay industry standards for, like 300 or 400 +. However, I would only do that when I was making money as I paying for everything off my own disposable income.
Interested to know how you are going about 'solving' this problem of needing legal templates? I know it's something I've looked into and I'm curious as to the steps you're taking (or maybe just using templates you found online...).

Step one - email my solicitor friend who offered to help. But they started a new job and I feel a bit bad as I should pay for services

Because I am trying to bootstrap this business wile I have a family, build it, work FT and have a life, I try do minimal effort on paper work. I understand the important, but I am also not sure if this thing will ever take off properly. So after so many years working on it, I perhaps (foolishly I admit) don't want to put too much time into getting the legal paper perfect. I just want something that is simple and fair.
To be clear, I said I would pay for something that focused on being very simple and clear, using plain English. Even then, at this point, I am unlikely to pay.

What jurisdiction/state are you in?
I ask because, I always see generic templates on the web ... but they mostly are terms or service or privacy policy generators versus designed for SaaS businesses.
