Show IH: Refjar.com - find online discussions for your Pocket articles
I created small tool for Pocket users - https://refjar.com
You connect it with your Pocket account and any time you add a link to Pocket, it tries to find discussions for it (on HN and Reddit). if it finds any, it sends them to your Pocket account with "Discussions" tag.
I use Pocket and I love reading HN discussions, so I thought it would be cool to find some discussions for articles I bookmark. Refjar scratches my own itch, but hopefully there are more people that find it useful.
Let me know what do you think about it.
I think this is a cool idea. As someone who uses pocket a lot, i would get value out of it.
Though it seems like the bigger opportunity may be actually just becoming the discussion platform for all pocket articles no? That way, if there are no existing discussions in other forums you could immediately start one.
I couldn't seem to get it to work (no articles showing up after I authorized, and after I added a few extra ones to pocket and hit refresh).
Thanks. It works, but it found only 3 discussions for links you've added. Two without any comments and one with just 2 comments, and I show discussions with at least 10 comments.
I think it should send some welcome message to Pocket, just to let user know that all is setup correctly.
Regards it becoming platform for discussion. I see this opportunity, but it makes sense only with large userbase. For now I decided to narrow the scope of this app to minimum.
btw. are you from Poland ?
Another idea - these articles get shared a lot on Facebook and Twitter, and frequently start conversations, if you could pull these in as well it could be interesting, will give you more conversation sources.
