Ideas are cheap
We've all heard that ideas are cheap, a dime a dozen, etc. It's the execution that's difficult and makes a difference. You are encouraged to share the idea and make sure people even find it interesting at all. E.g.: https://www.startups.co/articles/getting-your-idea-going-share-your-idea-with-everyone
On the other hand, there is also the worry about someone "stealing" your idea. An investor once raised this concern with me - asking me about barrier to entry. If you pitch your idea to some investor who likes the idea but got more experienced people to do it, they could turn around and just get someone else to do it (maybe not the exact idea, but a version of it). E.g.:

So what do you guys think? Do you openly share your ideas? To what extent do you share and to what level of details? Do you share how you plan to execute? How you plan to fund a project? Your market research? Your validation results?

As soon as you go live everybody can copy your idea. It's even a better time to copy than when you share your idea because they know it's working.

There are many startup ideas on my website where people could make startups out of: https://app.dailyuxchallenge.com. Probably not all could be startups but I think some of them can be executed well.

Why not focus your idea to something you can launch by yourself or a small team if you know them.
Right, not every idea needs external funding. However, I'm focusing more on the question of how much people are comfortable sharing to the public, not necessarily just investors. I guess one would decide how much to share based on the person you are sharing with.
