[Ask IH] Group Chat Tracker for Instant Messaging Apps

Idea validation:

A service that automatically analyses incoming messages in group chats of instant messaging apps (e.g. Telegram, Slack) and notifies you by e-mail if certain user-defined "patterns" are present in the discussions in these chats.

A "pattern" can be something as simple as a keyword occurring in a single incoming message. But this subject to be extended to more sophisticated solutions.

The motivation behind the idea is that nowadays many people participate in group chats (e.g. in Telegram), but few people have the time to read all the messages sent in these chats (especially if the groups are big). Consequently, they might miss important information. This service would read all the messages for you, and notify you in real-time when something that interests you is being said in these chats.

I have currently built such a solution for Telegram and with simple keyword patterns.

Would you use such a service? Would it respond to a real pain-point that you have (i.e. keeping track of what's going on in large group chats)?
