Ask IH: Who do you follow with your company's Twitter?
Hi, might be a stupid question but...
For my personal twitter, I follow people and companies that I'm obviously interested in. But for my product's Twitter account, I started following competitors, PR people, some companies that are somehow related. Seemed quite intuitive to me but I don't really have any reason or strategy behind it besides getting eyeballs on the product.
So who do you follow, and why?
I'm currently doing very little on twitter - but I do follow some recruiters, and software developers (both sides of my target market).
Mostly I'm retweeting developers that are looking for new contracts or freelance gigs, and occasionally they sign up for the too :)
Industry leaders, news sources, partners, people we like.
Potential customers who are tweeting about a related topic. We are doing a search for related keywords semi-frequrntly every few days.
Interesting! Are you using a tool for that or is it all manual?
Manual.
I only have a small browser extension which marks (or hides) accounts I already follow in the search result list so I save some clicks and time...
