How do you keep an eye on your competition?

In particular I'm wondering how you guys stay ahead of your competition? For instance if you offer a service for a monthly cost, how do you make sure you know when your main competitors change their pricing model or add new features?

I'm not the most qualified person to answer this, but I just listened to the IH pod cast with Tuft & Needle which had some interesting and familiar insights.

Focus on doing the absolute best by your customer regardless of what your competition are doing. Time spent analysing your competitions every move is time that could of been spent improving things for your customers.

The mattress industry sounds cutthroat and ruthless. One of the advantages about being customer focused in an industry where your competitors spend so much time trying to sabotage you is that their own ruthlessness is distracting them from serving customers as well as your are.

I'm yet to build or sell a product myself, but the more I listen to the advice of people on IH and elsewhere, the less and less I worry about competition.

Having an idea of how the landscape of your industry looks is important, but getting an email notification every time someone changes their pricing or feature offering isn't.

Although I liked what Mick , Taylor & Charlie wrote realistically , in today's digital landscape , there are over - 2 Billion FaceBook Pages , Millions of news and magazine articles , Hundreds of thousands of message boards , forums , groups and yet more Millions and Millions of websites you have never seen or even heard of...

Its called Competitive Intelligence for a reason..with todays technology a few simple minutes can help you uncover your competitors future plans and goals ...if you think this is not valuable to you & your business..then I ask you to reflect on the words of the greatest writers of all time..

    Niccolo Machiavelli
No enterprise is more likely to succeed than one concealed from the enemy until it is ripe for execution.

I am not saying be like chicken little , who cries the sky is falling
but , I found this site here on IH https://sitetap.co/

I do not agree with...If you lose, so be it,

Seriously...I am not investing ..time..capital ..and sweat equity building my business to lose

    Before all else, be armed.

100% agree. Just to build on this, even when you think you're responding to your competition, you don't know what you think you know. You'd be responding to a perception of what's actually happening.

Instead, I believe in doing the best possible version of what you are capable of, and building the vision you see. If you lose, so be it, you can't control everything.
