Channels for validating my product idea?

I’ve just put up the landing page for Digest Mailer (https://digestmailer.com). At my current company we’ve grown from 30 to 100 employees in about two years, and it’s becoming easier to miss what’s going. Digest Mailer connects to services you use (e.g. Google Analytics, Medium, Twitter, Stripe etc.) and sends your entire team a weekly digest so they can quickly read up on what they might’ve missed.

I’m now looking to find out whether there’s an actual need for a product like this.
My assumption is that companies have to reach a certain size before Digest Mailer starts adding sufficient value. However, reaching decision makers at these companies might not be so easy.

For now, my plan is to make a list with (semi) transparent companies with 30-100 employees and cold-emailing founders. But this is also likely to get a low response rate.

How should I go about validating this? Any input is much appreciated ❤️

Good to start with a low contact form of engagement, if you email 100 you'll get 3-7 Responses and hopefully some Insights. It might make you more comfortable to talk to them too.

On your first follow up mail you might get another 5, on the 2nd follow up mail another 5.

    • be consistent in the follow up, do at least 3 mails

    • try to get face to face meetings or at least phone calls,

    • do follow up phone calls too, especially with warm contacts from intros etc

    • get warm intros via your current company, network or whomever

    • try to understand their real problem behind it and talk about this First, your current solution Second

    • try to find out how big the pain actually is / compared to the other typical growth pains in such stages

    • make yourself a roadmap and set a Go/NoGo goal. And dont stop until you checked all your boxes and tried everything to hit the Goal

    Go for it!

This is great advice, thanks for chiming in!
