What is your favorite barebones Wordpress theme?
I am looking to improve the performance of our community's website (https://ideamensch.com/) next year. The current setup is too slow.
Is there a barebones Wordpress theme that you recommend as a great place to start?
why not move away from Wordpress completely...
try Ghost.org, or even gohugo.io
If the performance is the issue there is one of the reasons behind it (most likely):
-one of the plugins slows down your site
-your hosting company is bad
-you are not using CDN and caching.
Look in to those, and possibly you do not need to change the theme itself.
