DETAILS:

• Idea: I've been researching and working on an idea in the fitness and strength training space that also has a social networking element to it. It's a "scratch your own itch" type of idea.
• Progress: There are also successful businesses in adjacent markets that can serve as good benchmarks. Based on their business metrics, I was able to construct a realistic financial model that shows a lot of promise. I should also have the first design and a clickable prototype soon.
• Plans: This idea can be explored part-time and has a potential of growing into either a small bootstrapped business run by 2-3 people or into a larger company – either bootstrapped or supported with careful, limited, and strategic fundraising.
• Skills needed: (1) technical: mobile development skills (iOS first) with some understanding of and experience with full-stack web development (the future); (2) leadership: interest in and the ability to make a transition into a CTO and manage people.
• My background is mostly in business and, more specifically, marketing. I worked for a few top tech companies in SF and currently run a marketing team at a Series B SaaS startup, helping grow its revenues. I also dabbled with startups and side projects myself, primarily playing in the Consumer Internet space.
