I'm an indie hacker looking for suggestions for a co-operative living space to work on projects.
I think ideally the house would be:
I'm not sure if there are a few folks here currently living in these types of houses, or are interested in renting a place -- but it's something that's been on my mind for a while.
Personally I'd be a bit cautious moving into a place like this. I feel like 99% of co-working spaces, and 99% of Digital Nomad heavy areas(Hi Chiang Mai) it can very quickly devolve into a lot of people spending too much time talking about doing instead of actually doing.
I think you'd find more value in a regular meetup than living with people/office sharing.
As a counterpoint to this, I know of numerous founders in SF who live together and get lots of work done.
I don't think it's impossible to have founder roommates. But I think if you go live in an environment that bills itself as a "founder house" it's more often than not going to attract the type of people who like to talk about business more than doing it.
I kind of have this, and I have almost all the gear and tools to build anything (except for machining, I need a proper shop space before I start to invest in the equipment for machining).
Currently, I have the gear for software engineering, electrical engineering, woodworking, filmmaking, 3d printing, and some other odds and ends. The backyard is an "urban farm" and I have a couple spots that I'm planning to build timber-framed structures for additional creative working space.
At the moment, I'm converting my lab space to be a proper post editing studio for filmmaking.
I hope to have a warehouse/studio space soon that would allow me and my business partners to better collaborate on projects. Ideally, this space would allow me to work on any idea or project without interruption.
A co-op is a great idea, but I've found that the challenge is finding the right individuals who can commit with the means to make it work.

I believe there are people interested, you just need to find them :)

What country do you live in? One of my goals with Indie Hackers later this year is to make it easier for like-minded people in the same country to meet each other.

That sounds super cool! I've always wondered about some sort of home/coworking hybrid. Where you can actually live and work, designed for freelancers/entrepreneurs.
Would love to know more about the space.
as mentioned in the post -- I'm currently living SF, but would happily relocate to almost anywhere for the right environment.

"Last October I changed to coliving space. And I live together with indie hackers from England, France, Holland, USA."
Awesome, thanks for sharing your story!
