I made this platform recently as a alternative to patreon.com where payment is made in cryptocurrencies. Would love to hear feedbacks, also ideas on how I can get more creators and potential patrons onboard on the platform.
I support efforts like this, but I'm not sure the payment method is really the problem that needs to be solved.
We have a tragedy of the commons situation, especially in open source software development. Everyone uses these tools but they don't want to pay or contribute to development. There is also an attitude of entitlement on the part of users that make running a big open source project a trying experience.
I love open source but I think we need more pay walls to make things sustainable.
