Once your Beta is over, how do you handle those accounts?

I know a lot of people in this community have a Beta to validate their product. If you find some success in Beta, how do you handle those accounts? My thoughts are to create a free Stripe plan and then deactivate it if the product find success. If you've done this before I'd like your knowledge!

Hi Justin! I would be careful to inform beta users that beta doesn't mean free forever. I'd make sure they understand that after a few weeks or month you'll ask them to pay you X amount. "Anger always comes from frustrated expectations".

    Hi Justin,

Here's what I have done in the past, feel free to adjust it to your product.

    1. Let them know you are moving to a paid plan/beta is finishing.
    2. Offer them an additional 30 days free, ask them for any feedback or custom things they want.
    • This way they get a benefit for being a beta user (30 days extra)
    • Most people at this stage would shrug off the feedback as too much work, but you need to go after it. More feedback/custom stuff you add for your users/better service = happier customer/more likely to move to a paid plan.
    1. Once the trial is up email them again thanking them and letting them know that they can sign up to a paid plan or the account will expire in 24 hours.
