Feedback on my landing page πŸ€” is the message clear?

Hi guys, I would love to hear some feedback on my landing page. I kept it as simple as possible but I'm a bit concerned if the message is clear or not. It's for a personal task manager.
https://tidily.io

Thanks everyone for feedbacks guys, I just updated the site with a little bit more info, hope this will clear things up a bit.

The message I get is "here I present you my trello clone". What I don't get is the message why I would choose your product over trello?

    1. 3

      Same feeling here.
Not nearly enough information to make me commit for a trial period.
Just take your screenshots from the huge slider and split them up, explaining each in more detail, as in a "features" list.

But you do have to make them convincing and distinctive enough from Trello, remembering that Trello works great and is free...

      1. 1

Agreed on splitting the screenshots out and explaining them

      2. 1

Thats a great suggestion Daniel, I will definitely try it out.

    2. 1

I know why you might think that, I get that as usually people apply the formula "kanban+background image = trello"

      and miss things like:
-each list as single todo list
      -inbox
      -backlog
      -no cards its all tasks

      • Weekly kanban
        and so on...

I was extra harsh, I like your site, it's clean, I can see what your service does. But like me, a lot of people will think, hmm what's the difference and would like to see these differences you mentioned.

        1. 1

It's totally alright πŸ™‚ it was an honest feedback, I got the same question from a lot of visitors already.
Do you suggest adding a section addressing how it's different from trello?

          1. 1

Definitely! My first (and so far only) impression was "This is Trello but for $$$. Why would I want it?". After showing the product screenshots I would expect a followup with a convincing answer to the above question.

            1. 1

That seems to be the mistake I made, I'm planing on fixing by trying out @rlfrahm suggestions,
May be a side by side - before tidily vs after tidily comparison would solve this issue.
I will definitely update on my next iteration once it's done.

When I google "trello" all Ads I get is "trello is nice, but our service is better" results. I think it is a very, very hard market to get traction. You have so many competitors, show me what is different in yours what could get me interested.

You sure had some ideas before starting where your service adds value compared to other kanban implementations.

            1. 1

Thanks pat, you are right, I need to work on it.

  2. 2

    Hey, congrats on launching.

Trello is a free and well known competitor. I think you absolutely have to communicate within 5 seconds why your product is 10x better than trello. Especially since it costs money. That wasn't clear for me at all...

    Good luck mate!

    1. 1

Thanks for the feedback :) just updated the site with a little bit more info, hope that will clear things up.

  3. 2

Lower you annual pricing so that consumers can see value in using annual plan coz it has same money value compared to monthly plan coz 12*3= 36 give them at 30 or 28 so that they can derive value out of it..

    1. 1

I agree with you. That's just a initial price point I'm showing to see interest, I have plan to lower it to $25 and right now everyone is paying only $18/year (for lifetime) which is the beta offer.

  4. 2

It is not super clear. Beautiful is subjective. It looks almost exactly like Trello.

So I would need some messaging why you are better than Trello. etc.

    1. 1

I have posted a comment clarifying the actual use case also as suggested by almost everyone here I'm working on the messaging right now :)

  5. 2

First of all congrats on launching! Page overall looks great.

However, I'll make one constructive point - please choose a different design than Trello. The screenshots look just like Trello (as others have pointed out) and if you want to stand out you need to (IMO) create your own design and style... Think Asana. I'm not saying you can't have similar features but the actual look and feel needs to somewhat differ. When I started building the MVP of Soccercruit I made sure I wasn't mimicking competitor design.

    1. 1

Thanks for the feedback Colin, unfortunately I can't change the design just to differentiate it from trello.
The looks is certainly similar because as I said before now a days background image+kanban board = trello but feature wise there is a lot to it, I would say 9/10th of the features and use cases are different than trello.

I added a comment explaining the actual use of the product that might help you understand the use better.

Hey guys, here's a bit of context on why I made it.

This is how my typical day used to be before I made tidily.
I used Google keep heavily for my todo lists and quick thoughts, I used to use Todoist before for this.
Then for my projects and planning, I needed a visual kanban tool and Trello is the go-to tool for this.
For weekly task planning, I used teuxdeux but there is no month view πŸ˜”
So if I had a big month ahead I usually went for google calendar.
I tried using Trello's calendar but it's tied to a single board πŸ˜• so can't really plan my month there because is no global a calendar.

Now I open up tidily every morning and go to the today view which shows me all the tasks I need to do today no matter which project or list it's from.
Then I go to my boards for any ongoing projects.I also have a kanban board for all my to-do lists because I can open each list individually as well just like any todo lists.
In the weekend I open up the weekly kanban view and plan my next week then I also take a look at my month view to stay on top of everything.
If I get any quick ideas, I put them in my inbox, I usually sort my inbox later that day.
Lastly, there is the backlog, which is a life saver for me because it shows all the tasks I missed then I go through them and either schedule them on a future date or just start working on them if it's a small task.

Your landing page needs to walk the customer through the following story:

    1. Show them where they currently are
Here you need to show them all of their current pain points for where they currently are.

    2. Show them your offer
At this point it's time to change their beliefs about why your offer is the best thing to do to solve their pain points.

    3. Show them where they want to be
Back this up with testimonials and paint a picture that includes your offer.

Right now it looks exactly like Trello with no explanation why. As a customer, I don't want to just stop using Trello because you made a shiny new product. Show me why I should sign up.

    1. 1

That's perfect ! thank you so much for the points, I will work on them 😊

  8. 1

performance wise, you could improve picture loading

  9. 1

@jus_mike would you chime in with your feedback on this productivity app?

    1. 1

Hey I checked out the site. I like the story but it feels a bit overwhelming. I'm not sure of the one thing you do great. I can't take a test drive which causes me not to be interested in a invite because it was overwhelming. Web design is solid and you probably want optimize your images for mobile.

  10. 1

First of all: Good job on launching your product.

    Now to your point:

You were asking if your message is clear. To me it was very clear. It took me a second to understand what your product is about. But: I was pre-conditioned because I knew trello.

    My two suggestions:

    1. Find out if the message is clear for people who do not know trello or kanban yet. I would believe that the whole message would be less clear for people not familiar with either. So find out how to improve here if the hypotheses is true.

    2. Have a promising story for people already using trello. What's better about your product?

    1. 2

Thanks Phillipp for the suggestion, both of your points are great. I will implement them in the new design πŸ™‚

      1. 2

Sure Biraj. Keep up the good work and good luck!

  11. 1

Hi Bijan, your landing page is clean and crisp. The photos explain the product clearly.

A tiny thought: the title and subtitle say more or less the same thing. I think the subtitle should say what makes your product unique, for example: "Nothing else lets you ... " This will help you distinguish Tidily not just from Trello, but from all other potential competition.

I also wondered whether a freemium model might work better in attracting customers. Best wishes on the launch!

    1. 1

Thanks Pessionic for the feedback 😊
You are absolutely right, it needs a little more info.
May be a side by side comparison of before tidily vs after tidily.
And you are also right about the freemium model, but at the moment to refine the product and to work on it full time a little cash flow is essential.
I kept the price as minimum as possible, with the life time discount its just $18 a year which I thing the lowest there is.
That being said I have plans for freemium model in the near future!

Without reading the other comments. I used mobile. I like it. i like the design of the software, judging by screenshots.

The first thing that popped up in my head is Trello and whether I would use that in a similar way. I couldn't figure out the difference by reading your description. Second, I thought about todoist, which I also use. For both, I did not understand your unique differentiator.

I really like that the name includes tidy, because I feel that's what I have trouble with most using Todo lists. Keeping them updated and grooming them. Would be nice if you could show how your software helps with that.

    1. 1

Those are some excellent points Madamdo,
As a freelancer I used trello for projects, google keep for todo lists and teuxdeux for day to day tasks and weekly planning.
With tidily I want to combine those use cases but without making it super complex.
I'm also super lazy in terms of organizing lists and task which was a big issue for me when I was using google keep. I also tried to solve it by making it mandatory to add a category for boards and boards for lists and a list/inbox/date for task.

  13. 1

I think the messaging is pretty poor. It is pretty generic and doesn't explain to me the value add your site provides.

After looking at it for a few minutes, I still don't know what it does and why is use it.

Compare that to Digital Ocean "The simplest cloud platform for developers & teams"

    Aim for simplicity and clarity.

    1. 1

      Thanks for the feedback Evan,
Do you suggest a demo video for this?

      1. 1

Nah. Not at first. You have 5-20 seconds to get your value add across before I or anyone else wants to watch a video. Get the text right first

        1. 1

          Thanks will do that

Glad you liked it Ricky 😊, and I'm already on it.
Hopefully I will make a post tomorrow with the updated design.
