Indie Hackers: Work Together to Build Profitable Online Businesses
Hi all,
slightly related to this post by @maker1234 , I just got admitted to HackReactor.
- I am 37, and being somewhat self taught, no longer think I'm too old to code :) But i am doing it largely so I can keep trying to start my own company. I'm on my second effort and each time it takes money or tons of time (usually both) to get my MVP up as i couldnt do that myself. I'm trying to end that

Here is the catch ... I am based in Melbourne, Australia, and have grown up responsibilities here. I work part time to keep the lights on. I REALLY REALLY want to go to Hack Reactor, in SF, as that would be an awesome experience. But between exchange rates, paying for rent in two continents, airfare etc, it gets ridiculously expensive. I could afford it if i get a scholarship and borrow some money here.
My goal is to be good enough to hack my own ideas together as well as to get part time work as a dev (3rd career change!). That part time contract work will sharpen my skills and help me keep the lights on.
Is going to HR worth it in this context? Or should i just continue the self taught route?
