What day of the week did you launch on Product Hunt?

I have had 5 featured PH launches. Here are the top 3 in order of success and launch day, the best one was surprisingly a Saturday!

TemplateStash (Sat 7/11/2015 #1) - 1577 upvotes
BootstrapZero (Fri 2/13/2015 #1) - 923 upvotes
WhoHunt (Tue 6/2/2015 #5) - 425 upvotes

Of course, 3 yrs ago, PH was quite different than it is today.

Hey Daniel, from my experience on PH, the day doesn't really matter.

PH sees lower traffic on the weekends, but if you have a really cool product, it will get attention far after launch day.

Also, there is normally significantly lower competition on weekends, so for many products, you would probably be best suited to launch on a weekend and be near the top - versus launching on a weekday and be buried near the bottom (or not featured at all).

@danielmeade great idea for a post! I have some suggestions not necessarily related to the timing but how you post.

I recently posted two products, one didn't go well but the other was featured.

The featured product (a book):

• submitted on Sunday, May 20 at 8pm PST (I thought PH still followed the old model of submitting in the evening to be posted the next day; I was wrong)
• never featured

Between non-featured product and featured one, I made some changes to improve my PH launch:

• I became a contributor: https://www.producthunt.com/contributor
• I wrote a shorter, more clear title
• I wrote a longer, more personal first comment
• I posted early in the morning
• I shared the post with some web development facebook groups that I've contributed to in the past; I did not directly ask for upvotes, just for their support

For both product launches, I did not spend tons of time connecting with top Product Hunters, as many articles suggest. I think if your product is strong, you'll catch attention.
