Is it always the case you need >$0 in revenue and accept Stripe to post products?
This community and the podcast are super inspiring. To start sharing my story I went to post our self-funded product and ran into this...
We're currently only accepting product businesses (as opposed to agencies, consultancies, or services businesses) that generate more than $0 in revenue through Stripe and are willing to share.

Are there time-windows when the rules are lifted?
You can still create a product page, but I have to approve it. I started approving pages for products with $0 in revenue and without Stripe accounts a month or two ago, but I still need to update that message. (Interestingly, the presence of the message hasn't stopped several hundred people from creating products that don't match the stated criteria.)

I'm happy $0 revenue projects aren't listed. If you have $0 in revenue, you're not a business, you're a hobbyist.
It would devolve into a spam competition because people believe their projects are "valuable" (yet have $0 revenue...). And you can still post threads and let the community vote for what they find valuable until you have revenue.
The Stripe requirement... I don't like it, but IH got acquired by Stripe so it explains itself.
To be clear, Stripe-connected revenue is no longer a requirement. But it will always be a feature because, well, it's much harder to lie about that than it is to lie about self-reported revenue, and readers want to see whatever verification they can. I certainly would've built that feature whether IH was acquired by Stripe or not. (Nobody at Stripe asked me to build it.)
I agree with you about the $0 products in a way. But the product directory's UI and purpose is still in flux, and the filters make it easy to hide $0 products, so it's not the worst thing in the world for people who don't want to see those.
(Btw, thanks for all the work you do reporting spammer threads! It's quite helpful.)
Any potential on the horizon of attaching other APIs (Paddle, Paypal, Braintree) for those countries where Stripe isn't an option?
Good news that it's no longer a requirement, I hadn't seen that change so I hadn't considered posting my work. Maybe post a changelog somewhere (even if it's a hidden page, short messages, w/ only a link in the footer)?
Yup, the fact that we hadn't realized $0 products had been added is proof of that. But... the absolute bottom of the barrel will make it harder and harder to sort by lowest revenue to explore the ones that have started and started generating a little revenue because there's a theoretically endless supply of $0 projects (similar to how the largest majority of Twitch.tv streamers have 0 viewers, they don't even watch themselves).

Is there any way you can verify iOS, Play or Amazon earnings? Those three are HUGE categories and seem like they might have APIs.

I stand absolutely corrected. Apparently, I never cared to scroll down that far or sort by "lowest revenue first" and assumed they just weren't allowed. Damn.
No, I thought this too, because when you go to Add Your Product, it says IH only takes products making more than $0 through Stripe! Just happened to notice a few recently added products that show $0. :)
