I didn't think people would use PayPal. I was wrong.
I run a small digital asset store Bootstrap Logos. Last month someone asked if I would ever consider accepting payments through PayPal. At first, I brushed this aside. But I set it up after I realized it was only going to take 20 minutes for me to set it up. Since then about 40% of my purchases have been through PayPal. Most of these are users outside the U.S.
Setting up PayPal was definitely a win for me. If it's easy for you to set up it may be worth testing out.
Has anyone else had a similar story?
I've implemented PayPal in SaaS and was not a fan - a lot of customers will use it as a shield to issue chargebacks, there were surprisingly a lot of billing errors / problems. I found monetization significantly higher with Stripe.
I agree with you (I can not use Stripe in my country), from what I see european market use more Paypal and the Russian market use more QIWI .
