Hey IH,
I'm looking for feedback on my side project and its landing page. I've spent the last month or so working on and off this idea, and today I'm releasing the first iteration into the wild. It's called Improovi, and it's a way to collect anonymous feedback from employees and customers.
The goal with this side project is to go from idea to revenue in the shortest amount of time possible. For me this means releasing it in its most absolute basic form, with minimal time spend on design and saying 'no' to extra features, at least for the moment.
My question to the IH community is:
1.) Can you see yourself, your company, or someone else using Improovi at work?
2.) What were your honest, unfiltered first thoughts when arriving on the landing page?
3.) What do you think the TAM (Total Addressable Market) is for this product?
I appreciate your feedback. Please roast and don't hold back!
Hi,
I agree with @BTBurke ... your page does not describe what your product actually does. I don't know what problem it is attempting to solve.
There are some large gaps in what you have created, so the first thing I would do is "take it offline" and think about your product idea in an analog world. Once you separate the actual idea from the digital delivery channel, its much easier to see what's missing. So...consider the question:
What's wrong with break room suggestion boxes?
From the submitter perspective...
From the receiver perspective:
You've also mentioned that this suggestion box would be used for employees and customers. Obviously in an analog world you wouldn't conceive of a customer coming into your breakroom to drop a suggestion note in the box. Your idea breaks down because you have not really defined your target user as employee or customer.
And finally, I would say that I can't think of a single time in my 25 year career when someone said "we have identified a great improvement opportunity based on an idea that someone put into the break room suggestion box".
Overall, if I were to analyze the effectiveness of a suggestion box, I'd say it is very, very low. If you want to deliver a "21st century suggestion box", you'll need to consider what's wrong with existing suggestion boxes and create solutions for those problems. Don't just create another suggestion box which suffers from the same problems as the original.
Hope this is helpful to you in some way.

I get the idea you're going for and generally agree that you should concentrate on the problem, but no where on that page does it explain what the product actually does.
How is it better than a feedback@company.com email box?
