GitHub project vs Product
Pretty new to the software industry and was curious at what point is software a GitHub project, or a product sold to users?
Essentially, how do I know/convince myself a product has a monetary value?

Gotcha. After I made the post, I decided I would try and throw it out there. If people buy, it has value right?
Github is a "Directory" of open source projects. its just a code.
A product contains code, but it has a lot more to it (sales, marketing, SEO and so on). If you think you can sell the whole package, don't mess with Github.
