Discover movies you would have missed. popcornic
Hello hackers! I find out about this site a couple of weeks ago and got really inspired by the attitude and helpfulness expressed here. It got me interested in creating and launching something quickly. Just last week I got an idea of an web app to discover newly released and upcoming movies easily.
The result is popcornic.com. It's not very feature rich right now and I have a few ideas I'd like to implement later, but I'd like to test the waters first and possibly get some feedback on the idea.

Nice job Joachim! Could you add category (#comedy, #drama, etc.) ? Alert me (when released) button would come handy aswell.
I like this.. I'm a fan of trailers, and I go IMDB solely to watch them, don't really use the other features.

Looks pretty much good. I often use IMDB when I need to browse or rate movies I watch, and I always go to the movie's IMDB page to find out about reviews and the rating, and I don't care much about Metacritic because IMDB already has their ratings included. So, it would be awesome if you will add a link to the movie's IMDB page or replace Metacritic's. Maybe the life would be even easier if you'll add movie's IMDB rating, too.
Thanks for your input! The lack of rating was a deliberate decision as I wanted the trailers to speak for themselves. But, I will definitely add it if users want it.
Metacritic is the data source used that's why the link is going there currently :)
I like it! Super simple to use and designed cleanly. I actually got sucked in for a couple minutes too.
Any ideas on how to make this more sticky? Right now, it's in "one and done" territory for me.

I'm glad you like it. Some features I'm planning on adding is a weekly email and/or tweets for new trailers to have recurring visitors. To also improve the experience for recurring visitors I'm thinking about filtering out already seen trailers (right now it's all random).
