Better to go build some prototype to show around or is best to go straight into an iterative production of the final work?. I would love to hear your opinion and the tools you guys use for fast prototyping :D
I still come back to Balsamiq, time and again. I've tried a bunch of newer cloud based prototyping and wireframing tools, but I haven't found any that are as slick, quick and easy as Balsamiq.
Same here. Still the simplest way to prototype / wireframe.
InVision (https://www.invisionapp.com) is awesome for creating interactive mockups that you can show to people and get feedback.
I'd usually always start with this before writing any code
Agreed. Don't write code before doing this step. Do some usability testing just with basic wires and interactive mock-ups. You'll learn a lot through that process, and can change things pretty easily/quickly at this point in the project.
Don't have enough time for drag-and-drop solutions? Let us handle your interactive prototype for a reasonable price.

To answer your question we use Balsamiq, InVision, Marvel App and of course Photoshop. Some of our clients have successfully raised funds using our services.

Have a great weekend!
If you want something to show around, do mock-ups, don't waste your time on code yet. Iterate those before you start to create the software.
