I've just launched my first project!
Hey guys! Today is an exciting day. I have recently launched my first project called mentor tool. This is a growing collection of people who are willing to mentor others. I envisioned this being an extremely helpful tool for anyone who is wanting to enter a field but doesn't know where to start. On mentor tool they can find a list of people in that field who are willing to help them in their first steps toward success. I'm currently trying to grow the collection of mentors. This is where you guys come in. If you would be willing to mentor someone who is just getting started in your field of expertise please sign up! Right now I only have about 8 mentors, I'm hoping to grow this to about 50 before I launch this on PH. All questions and suggestions are welcome!

Hey Nathaniel, nice work, this looks like a great idea.
What kind of engagement are you expecting the mentors to provide? Would it predominately be over email or skype/video conference calls or do you have other things in mind?
I'm leaving that completely up to the mentor! These are non commital mentor mentee relationships. But they could end up being to very valuable, life long relationships. I'm just wanting to streamline that initial contact between the mentor and mentee.
I think it would be quite valuable to give some sort of indication of what the relationship would look like, might be hard to guess for some but take this advice with a heap of salt since I have absolutely no experience with mentoring apart from helping a friend getting into JS haha

How does one qualify as a mentor?
What experience/accomplishments would make them valuable to your platform and to eventual mentees?

Just to contextualize that the "mentor" isn't necessarily someone whos super experienced and/or successful.
Anyone who has valuable experience that could help someone with lesser experience. It's open to whoever would like to help!

Great idea. There is clearly a market for this as LinkedIn has recently shown. I can already think of someone who would find this useful (my brother). Being uncertain about a field and having the ability to reach out to someone kind and knowledgable makes all the difference. Your perception of an industry can change right away.
