Do you know any APIs or other ways to categorise card transactions?

I'm trying to categorise transactions that I get from a bank API for a spending tracking application.

For example, is the following transaction for groceries, a restaurant visit, or something else?

{
  'accountingDate': '2018-06-01T00:00:00+02:00',
  'amount': -1014.08,
  'cardDetailsSpecified': False,
  'interestDate': '2018-06-01T00:00:00+02:00',
  'isReservation': False,
  'otherAccountNumberSpecified': False,
  'reservationType': None,
  'source': 1,
  'text': '01.06 EXTRA A. JENSENSGT TØNSBERG',
  'transactionId': '774773805000451813',
  'transactionType': 'VARER',
  'transactionTypeCode': 710,
  'transactionTypeText': 'VARER'
}

The text field here is key – the other fields don't say anything useful about the transaction in question. This particular store – Extra – is a supermarket, so I would put it in the Groceries category.

Some other examples:

  • *2940 06.06 NOK 10.00 ITUNES.COM/BILL Kurs: 1.0000 (Cloud storage)
  • *2940 06.06 NOK 999.00 MEDIUMTALL.NO Kurs: 1.0000 (Online clothing store)
  • 11.06 REMA CHR. KROHG CHRISTIAN KR OSLO (Liquor store)
  • *2940 18.06 NOK 455.00 FINN SCHJOELL BLOMSTER AS Kurs: 1.0000 (Florist)

Are you familiar with any API or some other way to categorise these transactions? I guess I could build a solution myself, but it seems like a lot of trouble.
