Facebook Pages alternative for NonTech people?
Facebook pages enabled a lot of content creators, media teams of brands(mostly non-tech/semi-tech) to set up and share their content with wide audience.
What is the best alternative for Facebook pages now, where creators can create/setup and interact with their audience easily and post a wide variety of content?
The first thing that comes to my mind is a blog, but even with Wordpress, it still requires some tech teams to setup and manage.
What is the next best alternative?
The major advantage of Facebook Pages is the value of the Facebook social graph. I can't - and this pains me to say - think of any other resource where you get access to a network of users so easily and have powerful management tools.
The closest alternative are Twitter and Instagram with their huge networks but their management tools are really lacking.
keeping the network aside, management & engagement tools are the most important ones and I am finding it tough to find a similar offering.
A Facebook page is probably the easiest to both create and maintain. Posting something doesn’t get much easier.
However, I think that trying to build a Facebook brand is only worth doing if you have a big marketing budget or a very engaging topic. I wouldn’t recommend any small businesses to put a lot of efforts in growing a Facebook page now.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Facebook completely phases out pages at some point. It seems to be going in that direction already. It’s still great for running ads though. But trying to create engaging organic content simply isn’t worth the effort anymore.
Some people are saying Facebook groups are better now, but when something is too good to be true ... Wouldn’t surprise me if Facebook will eventually crush these groups too.
You could try WordPress.com instead of the self hosted WordPress? Anyone can get set up in a few minutes.
There are other blogging platforms too. Can you give some info about the audience you want to reach? Maybe it would be enough for you to simply publish content on an existing forum?
Agree. I follow tons of pages and I hardly see any of them in my feed anymore. Plus I suspect Facebook is a dying platform
While I don't plan to build a Facebook-like brand, I am looking for a simple tool that enables me to create a community, manage it easily.
While WordPress.com is a good option, a blog feels too formal to build a community around. Other option is Tumblr, but I am not sure how long it will last .
