Targeting SAAS Customers with Content Sites

Im busy researching my next venture and marketing angles.

Ive been quite successful with organic traffic and targeting customers who search for certain niches.

One option Ive considered is creating a content site around your particular niche. Here is a very good example:

LaunchDarkly (https://launchdarkly.com/) is a feature flagging tool. You can tell their money keyword is "feature flag" - cause thats what they do! And they seem to drive traffic from featureflags.io.

Has anyone tried this approach? Thoughts?

I believe this approach is most reliable. And probably it's the only approach to bring new customers. It shouldn't be 2 different sites, though. You may have a lot of articles on your own Saas website. The point is to show potential users how your product could be useful for them.
But it's not easy. Not everything works, I do some experiments all the time and didn't find yet a silver bullet.
    Good luck.
