Travel Notes
It's my time to show my idea and ask you for feedback.
https://travelnotes.io
Today I published the landing page of the project. I'll not talk so much now about the product to get your first impressions.
Thank you for your support.
Interesting idea....
Have you talked to people as to what their biggest problem is with their dreams of a perfect trip? I wonder if you will benefit from rephrasing your landing page to align with their description.
(While I do believe that notes will be helpful, people planning/dreaming trips might not be calling them as notes, i..e you might want to focus on your landing page copy aligning with your users thought process).
Hi Vineet, thanks for the feedback. Actually, the "notes" term comes from a user that actually make notes about destinations in a notebook (paper) and uses it to remember the places during the travel.
I'm planning to put some help in the system with complete notes as inspirational ones. I don't want to advertise if now since the database will be small at launch though.
Ok, sounds great.
Don't design around just me, but I noticed that I do use different phrases when I am in the middle of the trip planning.
I think of: places to stay, places to see, things to do, food to eat, and people to meet. It is interesting that even though a few of them are all places, they do feel like different things for me when trip planning.
Also, worth noting that I do call them "notes" when describing my notes to other people.
I think the key is to talk to enough people (in my experience ~5 people has been enough) about this task until you see the parallels in how they communicate, etc. If you have already done it then great.
It's a very interesting point if you have to describe all that parts as one term what name it would be? The notes here represent a "piece" of a plan... Maybe the concept is not so clear, to would be a good idea to generate some sort of video or animation explaining it... I can't see a way to just change the words and make it more clear or user friendly on the landing page.
I think the point is that a single term will necessarily be more abstract. So, I am not saying that you don't have the single term in a location or two on the site - but explaining the site in a way as the users think will likely get you more users.
Yeah, I think the video could help here... Thank you for your feedback. I'll try some things, and collect more feedback from users.
