Should I continue my side project?

I've been working on https://susube.com for 1,5 month. Basically, Susube is a place where I can save, share and discover the things that matter and now focus on Tech and StartUp. Because I read a lot of good posts every day on Medium, IndieHacker, Hackernoon... and I want a site to collect these posts and ranking it's (by voting). But I know this kind of product wouldn't make money in short term.

The API part is almost done, and Chrome extension will be released next week to help people easily bookmark and share what they read (No need to go website). But the point is I'm a developer, I can create simple MVP version but I'm not sure about how to grow my side project. Does anyone have any advice about my project? Should I continue with my side project? (because someone told me it looks like Hackernews...)

And if I continue, what should I do next (add more functions or improve UI...)?
Many thanks!

    A few questions:

    1. What specific problem does your product solve?
    2. Who does it solve it for?

Once you have more clarity on both of those points, it'll give you clues on how to grow it (ie. you'll have to go to where your potential customers hang out and engage with them there). Along the way, ask them if they have the problem you have, what they do as a workaround, etc.

That's how you'll be able to refine the problem as well as your potential customers.

For instance, on my project (www.tribefive.me)...
The problem: it's hard to build new habits, but it's vital for entrepreneurs to do so because it'll help them in their business
Who: new entrepreneurs (ie. not Elon Musk) who are on the journey to build and launch their projects

That means for me, I spend lots of time on Indie Hackers, Reddit, etc.

    Hope that remotely helps!

Actually, I made this website just for me and some friends to post something that matter with us (kind of likes the space to store what we read). But I want to grow this website but not sure how to do.

I actually develop a side project base on this idea too,
(I read a lot article too)

call Reco(short for recommend) Chinese name 月可
www.onereco.com (I didn't renow the domain after discontinue the project)

build around 2015, shut down in 2017.

because I don't have time to do marketing and the UI is pretty ugly at that time. and landing page doesn't have much explain.

in these 2 years I didn't iterate, the UI and Feature are same, (busy on fulltime job and other things that can make money)

Yeah, thanks for your feedback. Do you have any advice for my site ?

not yet, I would write to you whenever I have advice,
best luck to your project :)

Only you can answer that: want to make money or want to do this on the side for fun.
If the latter: go, and enjoy it.

If the former: stop right now. Don’t continue until you know what issue you are solving and for who. Once you know “who”, you can learn how they currently do “what you are trying to solve”.

Also on what to do do next: the answer is never adding more features.

Yeah, thanks for your advice. <3

What's the meaning of the domain?
