Just bought a domain, help me figure out what build on it!
I recently purchased neighbors.xyz, looking to a build a small weekend project that would solve a real problem you or someone you know is experiencing using it. If you are interested in partnering for a little weekend hackathon around a product built on this domain, please comment below. I am a full-stack web dev by day, but I 'd love to partner with some business and/or data science oriented people on this project.
Some ideas I've been toying with.
-> A kismet like site for local communities (get introductions to people who live near you who are looking for help with projects, or who you share a common interest with)
-> A tool for finding members of a virtual community you belong to (i.e: a subreddit, IH, HN, etc) who live near you.
-> A tool for finding friends from one online community on another app or website.

It's a cross between LinkedIn and Facebook, but it does not send out "introductions" unless I may have "opted out". But... this is not to discourage you, but more like get an idea to improve upon your own idea. It's usually used for neighorbood watches - people alerting each other about crimes and theft in the area, as well as a Facebook-type Marketplace for neighbors to sell their goods. You can announce things. I believe its community-based, so for my zip code, it looks like there's about 350 people in the area signed up for it.
Take their idea and put a twist on it!
The kismet idea is what I first thought of when seeing the domain. It's always good to know who is around you and what they can do - we've got a plumber next door with is really useful!
Plus it is a way of reuniting the dying community feel that has been happening.
In the UK here so would need a "U" in the domain ;) But also, as someone else mentioned, you can filter by immediate ZIP (or Post) code so it only shows you those in your direct community.
I like the "tool for finding members of a virtual community you belong to (i.e: a subreddit, IH, HN, etc) who live near you" idea best, but you need to be loose about proximity. Kismet local suffers from classic 2-sided marketplace issues.
