Shutterstock for App Screenshots. Thousands of companies keep tabs on their competitors or those who set the bar for the industries. Manually taking screenshots within apps is tedious and also costly if the competitors app require subscriptions. Updating these screenshots is a whole level of challenging. Companies need these information for product and design inspiration. What if there was a platform that paid people to upload screenshots of apps they use and companies subscribe to be able to view these screenshots across hundreds of thousands of apps?
https://pttrns.com comes to mind, I am not sure if this is something you can charge users for, but a great way to build a community and maybe sell other services on top of it?
Hi, thanks for your feedback. One thing that pttrns doesnt do a good job is show user flow. And that is something I would like to incorporate. I have seen other pattern libraries charge a subscription to access the screenshots and provide note taking tools on the screenshots.
That is a good point, it would be neat to see the mobile onboarding for top apps, versioned, on what platform, step by step.
I'd personally prefer to use my competition's product. I'm not sure you could get that far by just looking at screenshots. How an app looks is only a part of the story. What you have to convey is how it feels:
What might be interesting is understanding how your competition does marketing, though. Disclaimer: I'm not a marketer myself
Thanks for your feedback. This was very insightful and something I had not considered. Rest be assured the tool ultimately needs to provide value to its user and I will have to brainstorm a better way to package the product.
Very interesting. I could see myself using a service like this. Sometimes I'm just looking for inspiration. It would be nice to be able to search, filter, save, etc...
Thanks for the feedback @Mikel this is indeed features i intend in to include
