Idea: CRM and Help desk in one app for Indie Hackers

Generally its difficult to context switch and manage leads and customers using multiple tools. We also have to see whether one tool we like supports integration with the other tool we like. In order to solve this I am researching an idea of an app that lets Freelancers and Indie Hackers manage sales, support and communication of leads and customers from one app. Its like Inbox + CRM+Helpdesk for all Sales, Support and communication.

Do you have problem in using multiple tools to manage your users? What do you currently use to manage Sales, Support and Communication with leads and customers for your Indie business or do you know a platform or app that already exists for this use case?

Still a bit early for this with my new project, but I've been happy with Intercom and Salesforce/other CRM for this in the past.

Thanks to Zapier, worrying about integrations seems to be a thing of the past. At least in my experience.

      Thanks @louisswiss.
You were using Intercom and Salesforce for your indie business?

      1. 2

No, that was a bit later stage.

Early days I use a cheaper CRM (like close.io or pipedrive) and Trello (free) with Zapier Integrations to Slack, Drift etc for support/feedback

Recently I've seen indie hackers inviting their customers to a Slack channel where they can give feedback and get advice/help. This seems really cool and I'll probably give it a go for my new project soon!

Thanks a lot @louisswiss , Inviting to slack channel seems cool and makes sense to me as well especially to engage, improve product and provide more value to customers. However instead of Slack, I would use something like Twistapp.com or Facebook groups because they have focused discussions.

I didn't know Twist. Will have to check it out. Thanks.

Zoho has a CRM and helpdesk but it's not fantastic. Desk.com and salesforce. Those are the first two that come to mind but I've seen a few others.

I think there is still room for good solutions to it.

@shawn_maplegum Do you use any apps like these ones and what do you think is missing. Thanks for the comment though.

I used Zoho a few years back but got rid of it. You're right that they are separate apps but within one view. Desk.com and Salesforce are separate apps but they are both owned by salesforce and the integration is pretty seamless from what I remember.

I never liked the user experience as a support operator on any of them but I couldn't point you to a single thing that was missing sorry. Just a feeling like they weren't what they could be.

Why zoho isn't fantastic? Also both of zoho's CRM and Helpdesk are separate apps right?

Desk.com and salesforce are also separate apps.
