I have the opportunity to start a company this summer and get paid to work on it full-time (through my university). For both personal reasons and program requirements, I am required to set some goals for myself for the next 10 weeks.
Being that I'm at such an early stage (idea), I want to start building good habits now. The concept of OKRs really intrigues me, and I definitely want to adopt Lean Startup practices, but I'm curious of how others have done this as a solo founder? What are some things to keep in mind and how do I structure such broad, open-ended, highly volatile goals that are inevitable with such an early stage venture?
(For the record, I only plan on doing this solo for the summer... hopefully will be able to recruit a team in the Fall once things get rolling a bit).
Looking forward to you all's opinions and advice!
I have a dead simple way of achieving high level goals and staying productive.
It’s called 3-5-7
Three major tasks a day. These are high level change your life activities. I don’t stop until they’re done.
If it’s 1AM and I’m not done, I keep going.
Five important but not as impactful tasks. These can get delayed a bit and you can quit halfway.
Seven nice to do tasks. They won’t make or break your business. These are things like replying to twitter messages or posting about your app on IH
