Approximately two years ago I launched www.programmingtalks.org as a personal collection of programming related talks. Over the last months, the site attracted more & more users, also the ave. session length is growing surprisingly.
I was wondering what you guys think could be improved to enhance the experience on the site or what feature you would like to see.

Hey there! I guess one thing that comes to mind for me is some way to vote up different videos. I'm not sure if the video at the top is the 'most popular' or if it's just random but that would give people a reason to watch a video if it's highly 'ranked' over another video.
The other bit of feedback is just that I totally missed the search box when I first loaded the page. I was scrolling around thinking it would be nice to be able to search and then I noticed it when I got back to the top. Maybe some big old 'tags' at the top that I could just click to filter things down. I see you have that under the search box but it's quite subtle.
Finally, similar to the above point, when you first land on the page, perhaps you could ask a simple question somehow to gauge what people are after. e.g What are you interested in, node, php, golang blah and then you have some mini personalisation before the page even loads. Not sure on the best format for that, i.e a popup/modal probably creates some friction but just an idea so that people are more likely to engage.
Just some quick thoughts off the top of my head. Glad to hear you're attracting lots of visitors :)

I will look into enhancing the navigation (probably just a sticky search bar) and adding a video voting system. I also like the idea of personalisation but I'm not sure where would be the best place to put that dialogue. However, I'll keep you posted once those updates are live.

This is great, I'm always looking for interesting talk to watch now and then. While your site does help me to get a listing of potential interesting talks, it's still hard to me to be able to pick the most interesting ones. Nobody is going to be able watch the 405 available talks, so it would be nice to have either "Top" talks or curated list for high quality talks related to specific subjects. This way newcomer are likely to know what to watch right when they get on your site instead of opening it, see there's just too much to pick from and then leave.
