What do you think about my idea and MVP?
I'm heavy Pocket user and Hacker News reader.
What I love about HN are interesting discussions. Sometimes I read comments section only without reading the article.
When I get some new article and read it, I'd like to see what other people are thinking about it. Pocket does not have such a feature, and that's why I created RefJar.
I bookmark links with it and I get list of online discussions about them (HN and Reddit only for now). I can also group links into lists, make them public and share them. Here is simple list with blockchain articles: https://refjar.com/u/mdoliwa/j/blockchain
It's a plain text website, as it was created just to scratch my own itch.
With full time job and a newborn baby it's hard to make time for side project, and I really wanted to ship something as soon as it solves my own problem, so I could get some feedback.
I have a lot of random ideas for it:
- making list automatically ie. add links from HN with searchterm 'blockchain' and at least 25 comments to list Blockchain
- create list of usefull links for some niche subreddits
- subscribe to list
- email notifications
- list rss
- tags

It just needs at least one example on the landing page of how it works. I agree it's a nice idea in theory but it's kinda backwards for me since I'm usually finding interesting articles through reddit or HN rather than vice versa.
My main problem is missing discussions I would have liked to take part in by finding them hours after they happen. After 6 hours or so, you kinda miss the boat in being able to interact with others.
What I'd like is a service that pings me when topics I select are being talked about so I can get involved.
