Should I disable some features until a user registers?

Hi,
I'm the founder of https://pedalsmarts.app, a crowdsourced recommendation engine for guitarists, which helps them pick the best guitar pedals according to their setup.

In order to produce good recommendations, I must have the users register.
Currently I allow the users to input their setup without registering.

Which do you think is a better practice:

1. only show a few recommendations with the rest dimmed, encouraging to register?
2. show all the recommendations, and requiring to register only to save your setup for future use?
