Ask IH: Would you be interested in Product Management?
Dear IH-ers,
I'm writing a lengthy piece about Product Management, for which I've interviewed 16 PMs from all around the world π
The topics I tackle are:
- Getting started: the 1st steps, applying, getting your first job, what to do during the interview
- Being good at Product Management: in respect of users, data, what are the various ways of being a PM, how to improve throughout your career
- Being a remote PM
- Resources: interesting people to follow, Slack groups, books, articles, etc.
Because of the interviews/landing a job part, it may not exactly fit this community. However, I feel like a lot of tips could still be appreciated, as Indie Hackers have to deal with Product anyway.
So, what do you think? Interested, or not? π

Sure thing, every indie hacker is a product manager because products are what we do. If work is still in progress I have an idea of questions that you might ask.

What do you have in mind?
Because of the product, I make I'm very interested in questions that PMs ask their users. In particular, "what is the question addressed to customers that made the most impact on their businesses".
Maybe look into Jobs to be Done, that could be useful! But I don't think there's one single question that solves what you're talking about.
I'm also interested in hearing product managers talk about processes they have run that had impact π
I'm not expecting that they would tell me something directly I should do. But I am interested in hearing about how they think about breaking down their business problems ( e.g. what do they tell themselves when they approach problems). I'm also interested in tangibly how they spend their time and the artifacts (spreadsheets, documents, etc.) of their work.
