Any remote work platform for professional developers?

I have tried upwork or freelance. I think it is not that professional for developers. It seems that developers in theses platform exceed their need. Any other platform?

I have the same exact thoughts you have. Currently, I'm trying to find a contract engineering part-time job predominantly in the startup area and failing to do that at freelance platforms.

During my past journey in the platforms above, I had the constant background feeling that the majority audience there is not so much qualified.

After scratching my head a bit, I came to the conclusion that natural way to start looking for a freelance job is to do that proactively. In the other words find people who need the job done by yourself.

While I'm not yet fully aligned here, my current thoughts are to start surfing for a job boards, mostly at AngelList and email your uniquely crafted proposition directly to the company owners, trying to be extremely helpful for them. That way you can get way better job.

If surfing for a job boards, most company do not support remote work. Or maybe I should try harder.

Specifically in AngelList, you can use filter to show only remote positions

Might not be quite what you're looking for, but here's a way to make extra money working remotely as a professional developer. Either can be done part or full-time.
