Hi guys!
I'm curious about how other Indie Hackers with freemium SaaS are doing in regards to their active users to total users ratio. We find a lot of our users have a sporadic need for our tool and sometimes come back after months of inactivity and even become paying clients again but only a portion of our total user base qualify as monthly active users.
To clarify what I consider a monthly active user, it's a user that has logged in and completed an action in the last 30 days. I don't count users who have just signed up, only users that are logging back in after at least a day.
We're usually at 5-10% monthly active users from our total user base and I'm wondering if that's average for freemium SaaS targeting S&MBs.
Also, how do you guys reengage inactive users?
Thanks!
I'm interested in learning more about this myself as well, my SaaS itself will likely lend itself to low daily usage per user, however the nature of usage over time per user is what I would consider respectable.
Is such a situation better off being billed annually only instead of monthly? or as a one-time purchase?
I think the only way to be sure would be testing the different models and seeing how it affects your conversion and then calculating your LTV or annual revenue per user to make an informed decision.
