184% Growth In One Year With One Person Growth Team

Hi Hackers! 👋🏻

Here's how a one-man growth team acquired 184% more users within a year.

Growth Rate

This article probably caught your attention because of the exorbitant growth rate in the title.

In this case there are tons of burnouts, failed experiments, and consistency.

You've seen a lot of stories like this, so I'll tell you what I learned instead of saying, "hey look how amazing!"

Ruthless Prioritization

A minor typo on the landing page or designing a great thumbnail for the video you're posting.

There will be hundreds of things that need to be fixed or that would look great if done.

From a distance, these may seem like short, effortless things.

But you can't believe how much of your time these little things come together.

(I still remember the moment I said f*ck it when I looked at my Clockify reports and realized how much time I was wasting on these bullshits.)

You have a north-star metric and anything that doesn't directly affect that metric has to stay in your backlog.

North Star Metric

Especially if you are a B2B SaaS marketer, you know the length of the process from awareness to revenue.

All of these processes involve different success metrics.

You should choose a pole star metric if you are operating as a one-person growth team and devote your full attention to it in order to achieve maximum success.

Attacking everything without focus will bring utter failure. (Tried and approved :D )

That doesn't mean you'll never handle other things.
(It means not that you shouldn’t handle other things. It’s possible with a correct objective and a well-planned sprint.)

Don’t Assume

Keep any hypotheses that come to mind (either complete bullshit or a huge project) in your backlog.

You may be pleasantly surprised by results from an hypothesis you never imagined.

To give an example, I would never have guessed that Old School Lead Gen commercials would turn out to be so good for us.

Make sure you feed yourself what you're focused on

I won't say too much about it.

Check out King Hiero and Archimedes, a story I love a lot. :)

Feeding yourself constantly on the subject that you focus on can cause you to experience a great enlightenment when you least expect it.

Last word

In the last month, we have included new teammates in our growth marketing team.

I hope to share with you the experience and higher growth rates that I have gained from working with the growth team in the coming year.

Keep in touch!
