A few months ago I got frustrated searching for a simple "hours from now" calculator and landing on slow, ad-heavy sites that made me scroll past three paragraphs just to find the tool.
So I built my own.
CalculatorSpan started as one calculator. It's now a collection of free time and date tools that solve specific problems people search for every day:
What time is it in 72 hours?
How long until midnight?
How many hours did I work this week?
What's my pay after unpaid breaks?
The strategy is simple:
Find real questions people are searching for. Build a clean, fast tool that answers them. No signup. No fluff. No paywalls.
What I've learned so far:
Specific tools beat generic ones every time
Page speed matters more than design
People searching time questions need answers in seconds, not paragraphs
SEO for utility tools is a long game but the traffic compounds
Still early days but organic traffic is starting to come in.
