A formal hello (and I shipped something)

Hi everyone 👋🏻I've been lurking for quite a while. But I didn't have anything interesting to add until now. After years and years and starts without finishing, I've released something. It's a mini-course on how to import CSV files with Rails. I had noticed that dealing with CSV files was something being asked about on various forums, and created a super small thing to address that.

First thing, I'm more than a little embarrassed by the first version, but I stayed focus on just getting to the end. Now I can iterate.

I learned a few things regarding screencasting.

• It's harder than it looks
• While similar to teaching in class setting, it's different in some challenging ways.
• I have some weird sounds that my mouth makes when I start talking on video 😔

Next steps

• re-record audio
• Possibly do a voice over for a more polished experience
• Add exporting CSV videos to the course
