Working with influencers is hard enough as it is, so most brands opt for standard sponsored content in their collabs.
But that's not the only type of campaign.
I created a quick list of the other types of influencer marketing campaign you can use to grow your project.
Long-term ambassadorships - Create content using an always-on strategy
Social media takeovers - Influencers take over your account & share with their followers
Events - Invite influencers to your event to snap behind the scenes pictures
Competitions - Create competitions for influencers followers for liking/sharing your content
Giveaways - Give influencers swag to give away to their followers
Discount codes, Affiliate and CPA deals - Let influencers share in the success with trackable links
Let me know if you have more types of campaign you’ve run and how they’ve gone.
This list is part of a bigger article with a bunch of successful campaign examples. Check out the full version here:
Great insight. Which industries have you found to be most successful with influencer marketing?
Generally speaking any industry with a physical item should be able to use influencers and see success. As @atymic pointed out, targeting any industry that sells to females is generally going to work well.
What may be a bit more surprising is that we've seen brands like DIY tool retailers or large food brands see a lot of success with influencers.
The most important aspect we've found isn't so much the industry. It is the quality of the content and how targeted/engaged the influencer's audience is.
I think the ones that can be marketed to females are typically the ones that are most successful. Or, at least almost every sponsored post is a beauty, diet, skin, etc product.
The other ones that I see a fair bit are clothing, but it's really hard to differentiate when anyone can crank out tees.
