Almost 1k visits from a simple link post to Hacker News

Hey everyone, my co-founder put a simple post to Hacker News on Monday and despite it not making the front page at all, we got about 1k visits to our site.
The traffic wasn't well qualified (lower conversion rates) but all the same, it got us about 50 new weekly active users.
If anyone's looking for a few extra users, a simple post to HN might do the trick.

You got 1k visits from a post with like 10 upvotes? wow. I don't see any UTM params on the URL, how did you know they are coming from HN?
It's from the referrer in the HTTP headers. Just about any analytics software will track this.

Hey @vitabenes! That's great. A few different WordPress accounts also shared your Hacker News post, that might be the reason it's getting so much traction.
Very nice. I plan on posting something to HN hopefully it gets similar results.

Could be this was a good headline. Have you tested different headlines?
