Any movie buffs hate researching online for a good movie to watch at home?

Not sure if anybody faces the same problem as me. I try to catch a movie every Fri or Sat night at home. But I don't want to waste 2 hours of my life watching a crappy movie. So I spend quite some time researching online on a great one to watch.

The review blogs and sites out there mostly suck. Can be a pain navigating IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes and the top movies always seem to be the same.

Anybody has the same pain as me or am I alone? Haha.

Am thinking of scratching my own itch by building a quantitatively curated list of great movies using a little tech.
