Ask Courtland: Pause audio from podcast with shortcut while reading the transcript
@csallen: Please add the capability to pause the audio while I'm further down the page (by hitting a keyboard key).
Many times I need to stop to think about what the interviewee just said or make notes.
Right now I have to scroll up, press pause, go down and find the content, add note, scroll up, press play and that's really tiresome.
orand make the player turn into a fixed modal at the bottom of the screen.That will still require mouse control. The keyboard shortcut would require any changes to the current UI and can be done with just a few additional lines of code.

Space bar will play/pause. Playing with "Audio Scroll" enabled will scroll the transcript alongside the audio for you. Clicking any word in the transcript will scrub to the corresponding point in the audio.
That site hijacks select text (like Medium, ugh) behaviour which I don't like.
While we're at it @csallen - my small UX gripe of the month is that comment input fields lose focus if I switch tabs/applications in Chrome (MacOS). So when I swap tabs to copy a link/view a landing page I'm critiquing (and then swap back again to IH), I can't just pick up writing my comment where I left off.
