Ask IH: Would you pay for a growth hack?
Let's say I know of a way to get 100k or more impressions/views a week using social networks. The time required to do the promotion from the user is around 15 minutes or so a day. Would you be interested in paying for something like this? how much?
I tried to compare to existing offerings, for example, Promote Mode on Twitter offers ~30k impressions a month for $99 a month.
Facebook can do ~50k impressions for $100 or so per ad(depends on the ad).
I'd be interested in understanding the quality of the traffic you drive as well as quantity.
Great question. The quality of the traffic depends on the targeting. For example, as a user, you need to know who your target audience is, if you do know that, then the hack can be used to target those users. However, if the growth hack is used on the wrong audience, then the engagement rate will be bad. Hope that answers your question.
Agree, I would not want to manipulate, mislead, or distort my image in any way. But, if all we're talking about is a cheaper way to get the same impressions, then I'd be willing to pay a % of the savings. Maybe 10-25% would put me at ease as a customer.

Good question. It is financially cheaper.
Maybe. But trust would be harder to come by. What is the quality of the traffic? Does it convert? Is it sustainable? How many people can do that before the technique doesn't work anymore.
Yes, I recognize one of the main issues is trust (I'm a nobody on the internet). Not sure if it will continue to work if more people start doing it. Some of the traffic does convert (0.5-1%) and it depends on your conversion metric (email subs, buy merch, install an app, etc.)
Is your 'method' commenting on the top posts of someone's targetted 10-15 (hash)tags on various social media sites?
No.
I would only pay for conversions, not impressions. Also, I would only pay if I could convince myself of the result somehow. That way I could make sure that the quality of the traffic is right. Related to my most recent side project https://www.getrevue.co/profile/the-session, my willingness to pay would thus very much depend on the signup conversion rate of that traffic.
Thanks for your comment emil. Yeah, people like to have the choice for what they pay for (by view or by conversion). It also depends on your conversion metric (website view, email sub, book purchase ...etc.) and whether the product is free or paid.

The thing is very obvious - there is no any silver bullet, all the hacks and tricks are known and can be found on the Internet for free... if you would know something very special (what actually doesn't exist), you would use it at least for your own site.
Bear in mind a lot of these clicks can be robots too.
The traffic is not from robots.
Thanks for your comments, this tells me that if I bring such an idea to market then trust will be one of the main issues. So I'll have to prove traffic is not from bots and show metrics of production projects using it. Thanks.
