Ask IH: Would you pay for an AI-assisted Ad Agency?

Hey all, thinking through a problem with a friend. Most entrepreneurs and business owners I've spoken with don't know how to create effective ads on Facebook/Google/etc. Especially mom & pop business owners.

Would you pay for a service that let you quickly put together ads and suggested changes through AI/NLP?

Currently we're thinking you select a background image (stock photo), a "theme" (buttons, graphical style, colors), and input some text. We'll review it and give you suggestions, and publish it through Google API's.

Thanks!

I would definitely use this... when I run ads I feel like I am playing a guessing game when it comes to where I want to advertise, how long, etc. To know there was an AI behind it that wasn't exclusively focused on either Facebook, Twitter or Google would be great.

People pay for outcomes. If your ad agency gets me results, I'm happy to pay. If you're ad agency uses AI, but doesn't get me results, I'm not happy to pay.

When you're messaging the value proposition, try to avoid using "features" to sell, and instead focus on the benefit to your customer. "Higher engagement thanks to our AI-assisted process" or something like that tells me why I care.

Show me a before and after of an ad, something that makes me say, "Oh man, that's so much better. I need to pick this company to do my ads!"

Now that that's out of the way, I think it's an interesting idea. There's a large amount of data of what might work, what doesn't work, what's working NOW for different target audiences, etc. AI could help you build a better business. I'd say it's worth exploring.

I would pay for results and nothing else. If your tool can profitably execute paid advertising than I'd be silly not to use it.

    Sounds similar to https://albert.ai

I haven't used it before, but the idea does sound intriguing

I'm a software dev and have no experience making non-text google ads. (I used to play around with photoshop/GIMP so I guess I'd use that to create my ad if I have to.) Not sure what else is out there but I'd give your ad-creating service a look. "would you pay": depends on how much and how convenient your service is.

Also, after reading "the mom test", I can't help but notice that maybe "what do you currently do to create Google/Facebook/etc ads" would be a good question to give you additional insights.

Yeah, we're both in the same boat. I'd like to think I'm pretty technical but would have no idea of how to create an ad tomorrow. Sure I could figure it out, but what about less technical people.

      Good idea!
