7:00 p.m.: Bruins at Capitals: NESN+, MNMT
7:30 p.m.: Rangers at Islanders: MSGSN, MSG
8:00 p.m.: Stars at Wild: TNT, truTV, HBO Max
8:30 p.m.: Jets at Avalanche: no US listing found
Stars at Wild on TNT, truTV and HBO Max is the outlier. Almost every other exhibition game this month has been a regional or club broadcast; a national simulcast, streaming included, is the first sign that the networks are switching on for the season.
Rangers at Islanders is the return leg of Tuesday's derby with home ice reversed. By now both rosters are close to what they will open the season with.
Television
S.W.A.T.: Exiles, season 1 — 10:00 p.m. on STARZ. A spin-off from an established procedural, launching in a late premium-cable slot rather than network primetime.

Watching without a cable contract
Cutting a cable subscription used to mean losing live sport. It no longer does, but the replacement is more fragmented: national coverage sits with one provider, regional games with another, and a streaming service often carries only part of a season.
Before paying for anything, work out which competitions you actually watch across a year. Most people need far fewer channels than a package sells them, and the gap between what you pay for and what you open is where the money goes.
