Instagram for getting traffic

Instagram for getting traffic

Did anyone try to use Instagram as a source of initial traffic to your product's website?

My goal is to validate my product — I assume I could get several thousands of relevant visitors (using a tool like https://socialcaptain.com) to product's website in order to see if they convert to sales.

Did anyone try a similar strategy?

Thanks ✌️

My rough calculation/assumption is that if I use a tool like https://socialcaptain.com, I could:

    • Target ~200k people
    • 10% of them go to my IG-profile (20k)
    • 20% of them click on website link (4k)
    • 4000 visitors is something I can work with (with an average 2% eCommerce conversion rate I can get an understanding if it's converting or not)

I use to manage an several Instagram accounts. I learned the following things

    • consistency is key
    • you need shouts from people with engaged followings three times a day
    • make sure the LINK in your bio works ! :)

Instagram can be hard to get traffic from. Most of the time you need an audience, and that audience can be hard to build.

You can reach out to Influencers and pay for getting them to post about your product.

Also Instagram works well for certain kinds of goods (fitness, food, travel) and less so for others (B2B, finance software, SEO services)
