Calm Discord ops bot for paid course communities (welcome + FAQ + staff ask)

ServerDesk is a small Discord utility for paid course / cohort servers: configurable welcome, /faq, and /ask → staff (private thread). No mass DMs, no invite bumps.

Built for operators tired of answering the same five member questions. Happy to answer questions here.

The ICP is specific, but the buying signal is still open. Have any course operators actually paid for ServerDesk yet, and what made the $19 feel justified?

@aryan_sinh Fair question. No paid course operators yet — ServerDesk is still early.

The $19 isn’t justified by a pile of receipts today. It’s meant to be “cheaper than one hour of founder support” for welcome + FAQ + ticket triage in a paid community Discord. Operators I’ve talked to burn that time every week answering the same setup questions.

If you’re running a course Discord and want to try it: https://serverdesk-landing.onrender.com — happy to take blunt feedback on what would make it worth paying.

That’s the part I’d be interested in digging into — whether the recurring support burden is strong enough to create actual willingness to pay. Would email be easier? What’s the best address?

@aryan_sinh Yeah — that’s the real question. Happy to dig into it over email: serverdesk.godinrules@gmail.com

I’m especially curious what “recurring support burden” looks like in your world (course Discord vs open-source project Discord), and what would make $19/mo feel obvious vs nice-to-have.

Thanks! I’ve just sent it over.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you have a chance.

Thanks for sharing the numbers, that makes it much easier to follow.

Appreciate the honesty here, most people only share the wins.

Nice work shipping it. What has been the biggest challenge since launch?

The cheaper than an hour of founder support frame is the weak part, because that hour is not billed and most operators will not feel it as money leaving. For a paid cohort the number that does read as money is refund and churn risk: the member who asks something in week one and waits two days is the one asking for a refund in week three. If ServerDesk can show how many questions got answered in under a minute that would previously have sat overnight, that is the same claim in a currency operators already track. Also good call retiring the tunnel URL, a temporary domain on a checkout path is a hard ask at any price.

@peptides8 You’re right — unpaid founder hours don’t show up as money leaving, so that frame is soft. Refund and churn risk is the sharper one for paid cohorts: slow week-one answers becoming week-three refunds.

I don’t have the “answered in under a minute vs sat overnight” number yet (still zero paid operators), but that’s the proof I should be building toward — not a vague time-saved claim. Permanent landing is live at https://serverdesk-landing.onrender.com (tunnel is gone). If you’ve seen that latency metric done well elsewhere, I’d take the pointer.
